CASTING NOTICE — STAGED READING  OF A NEW PLAY
Playwright and director Andrei Kureichik (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrei_Kureichik ) is seeking Chicago-based actors for the presentation of his new play Sacrifice as part of the Theater SLIPAR Lab at the University of Chicago.
Performance: October 2, 2026
Location: University of Chicago
Rehearsals: Several rehearsals will be scheduled in advance based on cast availability.
Compensation: $250 stipend provided by the University of Chicago.
Characters: 3 (1 female, 2 male).
What play is about:
After falling in love with the Haitian immigrant who saved her from a brutal assault, a lonely New Orleans banker discovers he used her to steal from her bank — forcing her to choose between clearing her own name and sacrificing her freedom to save his family.
Andrei Kureichik is an award-winning playwright, director, and leading voice in contemporary protest theater, a Yale World Fellow, and a theatre researcher at the University of Chicago.  His work has been produced internationally and across the United States. His play The Man Who Fell with the Rain will receive its upcoming U.S. premiere at Trap Door Theatre in Chicago.
