Reality Theatre by Julia Lederer to be performed as part of Trap Door’s Trap Open Series.


Reality and fantasy blur for a woman playing a spoon in Beauty and the Beast. A man reconsiders a contract signed in blood.

The World Wide Web disappears into thin air. A collection of interwoven one-act plays about people who are stuck as the world changes around them in strange ways. 8 plays. 4 storylines. 1 hour.

Material to Prepare:

Sides will be emailed upon confirmation. Those comfortable with singing are encouraged to prepare 1 minute of a contemporary song.

Time Commitment:

Off book: February 2nd

Rehearsal: Sunday Jan 19th, 26th, Feb 2nd @ 5PM-9PM

Tech: Sunday Feb 16th @ 3-10PM

Run/work: Feb 17-19 @ 6-10PM and Feb 22 @11AM-3PM

Performances: Sundays and Mondays at 8 PM:
Feb 23&24, March 1&2 and March 8&9 with a possible extension March 15&16.

Character Type/Restrictions:

Bud: Wide eyed bro in touch with his feelings but not always alright with them.  Male identifying Mid 20’s to mid 30’s

Arthur: Dorian Grey meets The Originals with a sprinkle of Freud.  Dry, if any sense of humor.  Male identifying or non gender specific, mid 20s to mid 40s.

All body types and ethnicities encouraged to audition

Both roles will play 1 to 2 additional tracks
