Tin Drum Theatre Company announces auditions for a timely revival of The Unseen, by Craig Wright. Directed by Steve Needham.

Script Synopsis: Two prisoners, jailed without charge by an authoritarian regime, live with no hope of escape and only each other’s voices for companionship. When a mysterious new prisoner arrives and begins tapping on the wall, they must develop new relationships with each other, their captors, and themselves. A darkly humorous examination of trust and friendship in an absurd and cruel world.
AUDITION INFORMATION
- INITIAL AUDITION: Actors will submit a self-tape for the general audition.

- AUDITION FORMAT: We will contact those actors from whom we wish to see self-tapes and provide sides for the actor to prepare. Actors selected for a callback will receive an audition time and additional sides for an in-person audition. Although you will not be expected to be off-book, we do ask that you are prepared.

REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
Tentative Rehearsal Schedule:
- October 9 (Read-Through) 6:30 – 9:30 PM;
- October 12 – November 2: Mondays – Thursdays: 6 – 10 PM; Sundays 2-6 PM
- Tech: Monday, November 3 – Thursday, November 6.
Performances:
- Friday, November 7 (OPEN); Sunday, November 23 (CLOSE)
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday @ 7:30 PM; Sunday @ 2:30 PM
Performance Stipend: $600
CASTING BREAKDOWN
Valdez: Male-presenting; Open ethnicity; plays age range: 30s – 50s. A prisoner who hears a tapping on the cell of his wall and begins communicating in code with an unseen person. He has fanciful theories as to the type of prison they are in and how it is sustained, as well as who is on the other side of the wall.
Wallace: Male-presenting; Open ethnicity; plays age range: 30s – 50s. Character description: A prisoner who believes a systematic, logical approach will reveal the time and manner of their liberation. He plays word games to keep his mind alert and ready for the moment of escape to arise.
Smash (Note: This role has already been cast): Male-presenting; Open ethnicity; plays age range: 20s – 40s. Guard assigned to Valdez and Wallace.
