These Days: What Makes a Good Life

The Henry David Theatre Troupe is hosting a casting call for the musical “These Days: What Makes a Good Life?” The musical follows a person’s struggle to choose between two different life paths. The musical addresses issues of perspective, relationships, and life goals. In Act 2, there is also an answer to the question … what makes a good life?

The cast will include eight performers with a combination of either: a) 3 male and 1 female role or b) 3 female and 1 male role. The other four characters are gender flexible. There are five principal performers with several smaller roles. Participation will be under a work-for hire agreement.

The music can be found in the links below. The recordings are not from a professional musician or vocalist … so please exercise some imagination with what they will sound like on stage. The troupe is currently looking to recruit a piano player – so please feel free to share and distribute this notice broadly.

For those attending the Casting Call, please be prepared to sing the songs “Fever” (Act 1, Song 6) and “Pieces of You” (Act 2, Song 3). Lyric sheets and script excerpts for the dialogue-reads will be sent to participants post Google Form submission.
