The Beverly Arts Center, located at 2407 W 111th Street in Chicago announces auditions for Terrance McNally’s play Mothers and Sons on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 5:00-7pm and Monday, March 9, 2020 6:30-9pm.

THE STORY: At turns funny and powerful, MOTHERS AND SONS portrays a woman who pays an unexpected visit to the New York apartment of her late son’s partner, who is now married to another man and has a young son. Challenged to face how society has changed around her, generations collide as she revisits the past and begins to see the life her son might have led.

THE CHARACTERS:

Will Ogden (mid-40’s) Male
Cal Porter (mid-40’s) Male
Bud Ogden-Porter (6 years old) Boy

Mothers and Sons will be performed at the Beverly Arts Center in the Studio Theatre that seats 55 patrons. The dates of the performances are June 25, 26, and 27, 2020 at 7:30pm and June 28, 2020 at 2:30pm. Tech week is Sunday, June 21, 2020 through Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Rehearsals may be in the day time or the evening based on the availability of actors and will be held at the Beverly Arts Center.

Pay is an $800 stipend for all adult actors for all rehearsals and performances and a $250 stipend for the child actor who will not be called to many rehearsals, plus two complimentary tickets to the shows.
