Character Type/Restrictions:

The Pilon, by Zach Barr - In a Seattle sports card shop, a schism is brewing between those who collect for sentimental reasons and those who look only for high-dollar cards to resell. When a potential goldmine card is found by a trans teenager, the resulting scramble to sell it forces the store’s co-owners, and their regular customers, to re-evaluate how they define themselves as collectors – and, furthermore, as male.

  • RHONDA: 40+, she/her, trans woman. Founder of Wax Harvest Card Shop. Collects vintage baseball cards. Corbin’s aunt. Has been both the owner of Wax Harvest and a member of the queer community since 2002, and will staunchly defend and foster both. Caring. Witty.
  • CORBIN: 30s, he/him, cis man. Co-owner of Wax Harvest. A massive fan of basketball cards and, to a lesser degree, basketball. Runs the Wax Harvest Case Breaks channel on Twitch. Certain about his passions but uncertain of how to act on them. Tender-hearted. Hesitant.
  • LEX: Late 20s to Early 30s, he/him, cis man. Corbin’s friend. A fervent collector of “non-sport” cards. A freelance graphic designer who met Corbin through work. Gay, and secretly in love with Corbin. Scared of nothing more than confrontation. Playful. Anxious.
  • MARC: Mid 30s to Early 40s, he/him, cis man. Software engineer. Corbin’s college fraternity brother. A sports fan who joined the hobby recently, and sees cards as a thriving investment. Headstrong. Confident.
  • GRIFFEY: Teenager, he/him, trans boy. An 8th grade student at Meany Middle School. A huge fan of Seattle Emeralds center Ronny DeSoto. A collector since August, though he hasn’t resold many cards. Hopeful. Passionate.

The Seagull, by Anton Chekhov

  • Irina Nikolaevna Arkadina: she/her (late 40’s to mid 50’s), an actress.
  • Konstantin Gavrilych Treplyov (Kostya): he/him (early 20’s), her son.
  • Pyotr Nikolaich Sorin: he/him (early 60’s), her brother.
  • Nina Zarechnaya: she/her (early 20’s), the daughter of a wealthy landowner.
