Peacock Productions will be presenting a new absurd comedy at the Den Theater in Wicker Park June 26th to 29th.
A twist on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, where Vlad Dracula must face the reincarnation of his great love, Elisabeta, every several decades, seduce her and live through the tragedy. It wasn’t just Mina Harker who had all the fun. When the Hell accounting office discovers Vlad didn’t fulfill his obligation in 1967, because he had discovered he was gay and tired by then, he is sent back to seduce the schoolteacher who was that year’s reincarnation. It should be an easy task, but Vlad isn’t sure he wants to come back to the 2020s. Complicating the task farther are Vlad’s husband, angry that he was also sent back for some reason and determined to get Vlad to finish the job, and a slew of misfits in the school each with their own skeletons in the closet that will screw everything up for Vlad.

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals will begin the week of May 11 and will be two nights a week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Exact days to be determined by actor eligibility. Actors must be fully available June 23-29.
Character Type/Restrictions:
SEBASTIAN (20s/30s). Dracula’s husband. Self-absorbed theater-kid, a pain in Vlad’s ass.
BETHANN CARPENTER (20s/30s). An Iowa schoolteacher, a small-town girl who wishes she were changing the world, but so far hasn’t gotten more daring than wearing a miniskirt.
THOMAS HOWSER (50s). School Principal. A bumbling dreamer, a could-have-been poet, he wants to be an assertive rebel leader, but he crumbles under any stress.
GENEVIEVE YOUNG (40s). School Secretary. Seemingly uptight, rule-bound, controlling, but she’s got some naughtiness up her sleeve.
MARGARET CAVENDISH (40s). Head of the PTA, a religious fanatic, domineering, determined to paint Bethann as an immoral stain on the school.
