Audition Date and Time: Submission Deadline: July 30 | Callbacks August 8
Audition Location: Video Submission

Oil Lamp Theater is seeking submissions for its production of the musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts.  This production will be directed by Jay Pastucha. The production will be rehearsed and presented at Oil Lamp Theater, 1723 Glenview Road in Glenview, IL.

This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum known as ‘the relationship.’ Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, ‘Say, what are you doing Saturday night?’

First submissions will be self tapes.  More information about what to submit is included below.  If we would like to see more from you, we will notify you about callbacks by August 4.  Callbacks will be held at the theater from 7 to 10 pm on Sunday, August 8.

If you are interested and available for this production please submit using this audition form by July 30.

For your submission include:

  1. Your headshot and resume
  2. A self tape consisting of:
    • A slate introducing yourself and your selection taped from head to toe
    • 32 bars of a comedic song taped from the waist up

*Please send the video as an UNLISTED link from YouTube or Vimeo*
