Northbrook Theatre announces auditions for “The Tale of the Whale”. A theatrical experience designed for children and families (best for ages 2 to 5 and their families), this interactive theatrical experience will bring the story of Jonah and the Whale to life using performance, live music, and sensory storytelling. Audiences will be seated in the round, and the action will unfold all around them. The performance includes moments of sensory engagement between performer and audience members.
Seeking two to four actor-musicians. Actors should have an interest and/or experience in teaching artistry, experience with children a plus; actors who enjoy collaborative devising and improvisation; and actors who are interested in performing up-close and interacting with audiences as part of the performance experience.

Material to Prepare:
Please submit a video with the following:
1. Perform a short (45-60 seconds) poem.
2. Perform 16 bars of a musical theater song or folk song with your instrument.
Please submit an unlisted YouTube link to David Zizic, Performing Arts Coordinator. Submit videos by June 15, 2026 at Noon. If selected, you will be invited to attend in-person call backs on June 18, 2026 10 am - Noon at the Northbrook Theatre.
