Godspell is a show about a community built on a foundation of radical and inclusive love. We believe the messages of the stories told in Godspell are for all people and in an effort to reflect that, we are seeking to cast an ensemble that spans age, race and gender. Aside from Jesus and John / Judas, actors will use their given names and gender identities in the show. The original character names have been provided as a reference, but folks should consider which songs sit comfortably in their voice and feel the most authentic to the performer. Any preconceived notions of a character’s age, race, gender, or physical attributes need not be considered as you prepare your submission. Several tracks may be filled by middle-to-late-aged performers as well as performers who play a musical instrument.
