Music Theater Works is hosting a cabaret on June 5th for DISABLED CHICAGO performing artists interested in showcasing their talent to artistic directors and theatre makers. MTW’s Co-director for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Joshua Castille, is co-producing and Emceeing this event. Joshua is a deaf theatre artist and strong advocate for the disabled community. Disabled artists all have something to bring to the table and we want Chicago theatre makers to take notice! This cabaret show is going to be a night to network and feature your talent. The theme is “CAST US!”. Often times people have trouble imagining beloved characters, new and old, as someone disabled or different (Different to who? That’s an entirely different conversation). So pick a character that YOU would like to play and perform a song to show us your take on the character. As space is limited, all submissions will be reviewed and invitations will be sent to selected artists.
