The Characters for Chort:
Note: Anticipate doubling. The following characters are in no particular order.

Chort - A Ukrainian Imp from Hell trying to ruin Vakula's life for no really good reason. Immature, emotional, rude

Vakula - A brilliant blacksmith and jack-of-all-trades artist who is just a boy, standing in front of a girl, asking her to love him (and she doesn't, but maybe she will). Traditional romantic lead, a bit daft, emotional comedy straight man.

Oksanna - Spoiled rich girl who is the most desirable girl in town. Honestly, it's funny Vakula thinks he has a chance. Delusional, self-centered, learns a lesson.

Solokha -  Vakula's mom and a witch who the Chort falls in love with, but, unbeknownst to him, is playing the field. The entire field. She's the definition of sleeping her way to the top and does not care. She's gonna marry Chub and that's that. Flirty, fun, and here for a fun time, not a long time.

Chub -  Pronounced Choob. He's the mayor of the town, very wealthy father of Oksanna. He hates Vakula. He's superstitious, cowardly, prone to anger, pleasure seeking. His best friend is the priest, but they can't acknowledge it.

Panas - Head Priest in the town of Dykanka, but nobody really likes him (except his best friend). Constantly going back and forth with his faith. Also sleeping with Solokha.

Odereena -  Gossip-monger, back-handed compliment wielding, best friend of Oksanna. A lot of improv is encouraged for this character.
Fat Rat - A literal human sized rat from New York City in the future, who is also a very powerful magician. 'NUFF SAID.

Tsaritsa (Katherine The Great) - Queen of Russia, "let them eat cake" type personality, does do a genocide immediately after the play ends (in real life).

Potemkin - State Sanctioned lover of the queen. Hype man with no lines.

Cossack I - The less competent of the two Cossacks, but very loyal to his quest.

Cossack II - The boss Cossack. On top of it.

Homeless Man - Causes the Chort to Expo-dump
