Fleetwood Jourdain Theatre in Evanston’s Noyes Cultural Arts Center is excited to be producing HOME by Samm-Art Williams, directed by Tim Rhoze. The theatre is located at 927 Noyes St., Evanston, IL 60201, AT the Noyes el stop.

For the first round of auditions, we’d like to see video/self tape auditions (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) which you can send to fjtheatre@cityofevanston.org with HOME AUDITION in the subject. THERE ARE TWO SPECTACULAR ROLES FOR WOMEN IN THIS PLAY. (The one male role has already been cast.) There are only 3 actors in this journey through time in a poetic and moving text that has been acclaimed wherever it has been performed. First seen in Chicago in the early 80s when the National Tour came through, it was later produced at Court Theatre, and now it is landing at Fleetwood Jourdain at a time in Chicago’s history when it is apt to tell the story of one Black American’s past.

If you are a Black Non-Equity Actress who is available in January/February, I urge you to read the play, or at least read some of the sides. I can’t imagine you would not be interested/intrigued/excited to audition.
