Zip, Zoom, Bloom
Bees, butterflies, and birds – oh my! Pollinators can be tiny, but they make up a huge part of our ecosystem. Zoom in on our backyard and meet some small creatures that have a big impact. With live music and puppetry, this is an interactive theatrical experience for the family. Through this new work specifically created for ages 5 and under, audiences are invited to join the diverse community that helps all of our gardens grow. Explore, play, and learn along the way.
Material to Prepare:
As this show is in development, the rehearsal process will include some devising of new material for younger ones. We ask that auditioners prepare a song and story appropriate for toddlers, not to exceed 5 minutes.
The song should be something you feel comfortable leading our young audience through (e.g., nursery songs like “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” are perfect!). Instruments are encouraged, especially ukulele and guitar. As the two performers will be depicting a wide range of creatures through movement/physicality and puppetry, we ask that the story include some physical/movement elements.
This show will also incorporate some Spanish, so bilingual and Spanish speaking artists are encouraged to apply. All are welcomed to submit.
