Corn Productions is seeking actors of all genders, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds for their auditions for their Spring production, a world premiere of the play Though I Must Go by Amaris J. Gagnon.
About the show:
In a future where every man and woman must legally be married by the age of forty, or join a one-way space Expedition, 38-year-old Rachel must decide whether to marry her long-term boyfriend or re-discover her purpose among the stars.
Material to Prepare:
Auditions will be held in 5-minute slots. Please prepare a short comedic monologue and bring a copy of your headshot and resume.
Callbacks will be held in groups and consist of reading sides from the script.
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals will run from March 16th to April 9th and consist of weekend afternoons and weekday evening rehearsals (3-4 per week) based on cast availability.
Performances are on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from April 10th to May 3rd. All shows are at 7:30pm with a 6:30pm call time for cast.
Character Type/Restrictions:
Corn Productions is committed to creating a diverse cast for our production.
Rachel Montclair - late 30's. Rachel must figure out why her Grandmother left for the space Expedition and make the decision to either leave her boyfriend to go to space before she turns forty.
Maggie Montclair - 17. Maggie is a devout Catholic who must choose between her relationship with God or the boy she has secretly loved for years.
Carol and Nigel Montclair - 60's. The parents of both Rachel and Maggie.
Ben Tabor - late 30's. Ben has his doubts over his relationship with Rachel and is tired of fighting with her. He has always been with Rachel and does not know what anything else could look like.
Belamy Browning - 17. Belamy is an altar boy at Saint Anthony's church. He is in love with Maggie and wants to live a life for his passions than become a Priest.
Stella Lannon - 70's. Rachel's grandmother who left to join the Expedition forty years ago by choice.
Lauren Mendoza - late 30's. Rachel's best friend who is unhappy in his marriage and family dynamic.
Taylor Krasinski - late 30's. Taylor must choose between two boyfriends.
Some in the cast will be playing multiple roles of characters not listed above.
