Seeking understudies for City Lit’s production of Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train by Stephen Adly Guirgis, directed by Esteban Andres Cruz.
Material to Prepare:
Please send hs/resume to auditions@citylit.org and indicate which character(s) you would like to be considered for. We will follow up with self-tape instructions, including sides. Please submit by June 27.
Time Commitment:
Requirements: memorize the part, attend as many rehearsals as you can, and attend 1 show per weekend.
The show runs July 25 - September 7, 2025.
Character Type/Restrictions:
Seeking understudies for the following roles:
ANGEL CRUZ: incarcerated bike messenger, male identifying/presenting, 20s-30s, Afro-Latino or Black
LUCIUS JENKINS: incarcerated serial murderer, male identifying/presenting, 30s-50s, Black or Afro-Latino
VALDEZ: male or female presenting, a dominating presence, threatening - a Corrections officer, 30s-50s, Latino/a
