Chicago Shakespeare Theater is seeking AEA/NON actor/singer/dancers for ensemble roles in their 2026–2027 Season production of Play On!. All roles will be understudied.
We are especially seeking exceptional dancers with strong jazz/contemporary technique and intermediate to advanced tap ability. Partnering experience in a plus. Strong singing and acting skills are required.
In-person auditions and a dance & tap call will be held in early June.
While characters may be written on the binary, casting will be expanded to consider the full range of the gender spectrum. Chicago Shakespeare Theater operates year-round and casts on a play-by-play basis.

20s–40s. Black. Charismatic performer with strong vocal ability and commanding stage presence.
BLACK BUTTERFLY / ENSEMBLE
20s–30s. Black. Excellent mover with strong vocal ability.
THE SUGAR DADDY / ENSEMBLE
20s–50s. Black. Strong singer/actor with commanding presence and comedic flair.
BARTENDER / ENSEMBLE
20s–30s. Black. Strong mover and vocalist.
Seeking performers with strong technical dance backgrounds, particularly in jazz/contemporary styles and tap. Dancers with high-level musicality, athleticism, and strong ensemble storytelling instincts are strongly encouraged to submit.
