Pay Rate: $300 stipend
Audition Date and Time: In Person Auditions will be on Monday, June 26 6:30pm-9:30pm at BrightSide Theatre’s Rehearsal Studio, 1989 University Lane, Unit D, Lisle, IL 60532.  Sign up for a time at HERE Prepare a 32-bar cut of a song that shows off your acting strengths as well as vocal range.  An accompanist will be provided. Bring dance clothes/shoes if asked to stay for choreography.  If you are auditioning for the non-singing role of the Narrator, prepare a 1 min comedic monologue.  Bring your Headshot/Resume. Callbacks will be by invite only the evening of  Wednesday, June 25.

Seeking strong adult actors that are 18+ years of age.  Local hires only (no housing or travel provided). We encourage Trans and Gender Non-Conforming performers to audition as genders listed as those of the character, not the performer.

All performances will be at the Theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall on the Campus of North Central College, 31 S. Ellsworth in Naperville. Opening 10/25/25; Closing 11/9/25 (Fri/Sat evenings at 8pm and Sun matinees at 2pm – 9 performances total)

Character Type/Restrictions:

Casting Breakdown

Roles Available for Adults Ages 18+

Dr. Frank-N-Furter: (identifies as male) 30‘s-50’s A self-indulgent cross-dressing mad scientist/transvestite/master of the castle. He has impeccable comedic timing, an incredibly forward sense of sexuality, and an irresistible charisma. Baritone.

Janet Weiss: (identifies as female). An All-American girl until she isn’t, engaged to Brad Majors, who tries to be everything expected of her until she enters the world of Frank-N-Furter and his creation Rocky Horror. Her world is turned upside down as she is lured into exploring aspects of herself, she never dreamed she’d had. Mezzo-Soprano

Brad Majors: (identifies as male). 20’s-30’s A straight-laced All-American man until he isn’t. He discovers everything he believes about himself and his world challenged when he and his fiancé, Janet Weiss are confronted with the rampant hedonism of space alien Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Tenor/Baritone

Riff Raff: (identifies as male) 20’s-40’s Brother/lover of Magenta and a disgruntled, Transylvanian underling of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Riff-Raff eventually overthrows his master in order to return to his home planet. Rock Tenor.

Magenta/Usherette: (identifies as female) Sister and lover of Riff-Raff, Magenta is part of the secret mission from Transylvania forced to be disguised as a maid under Frank N. Furter. Doubles as USHERETTE Mezzo-Soprano

Columbia/Usherette: (identifies as female) 20’s-30’s a groupie. She first falls in love with Frank N. Furter, then the Delivery Boy, Eddie. A rock and roll lost-soul who never manages to completely fit in. Must be able to Tap dance. Doubles as USHERETTE Mezz-Soprano

Rocky Horror: (identifies as male) 20’s-30’s Created by Dr. Frank-N-Furter from scratch he is the epitome of “the perfect man” with a toned body whose sole purpose is simply to serve as a plaything for his creator. Rocky’s knowledge of the world is limited to the purely lustful and sexual. Tenor.

Eddie/Dr. Scott: (identifies as male) 30’s-50’s An ill-fated delivery boy with no sense of control or sanity. Emerges from the deep freeze with half his brain and is all rock and roll madness. Doubles as DR. SCOTT Mentor of Brad and Janet who senses trouble in the castle. Strong comedic timing and a German accent.  Baritone

Narrator: (identifies as either gender) 30’s-65+ Speaks directly to the audience in a professional manner. British accent. Must be great with improv as this character has direct interaction with a sometimes very vocal audience. Non-Singing

Phantoms/Transylvanians: (identify as either gender) 20’-30’s Ever-present, always lurking inhabitants of The Rocky Horror Show. A combination of voices
