A brand new Chicago theatre company
Casting IMMEDIATELY: Male 20s-30s who looks young. To play elementary school student who takes on several roles throughout the play via props and costume pieces to become characters who move the story along, in Esme Raji Codell’s Hanukkah, Shmanukkah. Storybook adapted for stage by Melanie Ann Apel (Director).
Play runs approx. 50 minutes.
Play will take the stage at Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago.
Rehearsals take place in Lincoln Park neighborhood,
Material to Prepare:
Provide your favorite monologue or your reel. Nothing special, just do your thing!
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals begin 2nd week of October and will run through November (no rehearsals Thanksgiving week) 2-3x/week on a combination of Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays/Sundays 6:30-9:30. Final rehearsal schedule will be posted when this final actor is in place.
Tech week begins December 3.
Dress Rehearsal December 10.
10 performances (5/weekend) to run Th-Sun, December 11-21 (Th/F/Sa 6pm; Sa/Su 2:30pm)
Strike December 21
Character Type/Restrictions:
Actor should have youthful look; be able to play multiple characters believably.
Original script.
World premiere production.
Ensemble piece. All actors on stage for duration of play.
