Carmela Full of Wishes

When young Carmela wakes up on her birthday, her wish has already come true–she’s finally old enough to join her big brother as he does the family errands! Traveling through their neighborhood, Carmela finds a lone dandelion growing in the pavement. But before she can blow its white fluff away, her brother tells her she has to make a wish. If only she can think of just the right wish to make!

Audition Materials- Please prepare one side according to the role you wish to audition for. For Papi, in addition to the side, please prepare a 32-bar cut of a song of your choice on guitar.

This show will have a demanding yet extremely rewarding schedule where children's laughter and joy will make your mornings. The show will perform from Wednesday to Sunday, twice a day for a total of 10 shows a week. Performances are at 10am and 12pm during the weekdays and 9:30am and 11:30am during weekends. This schedule, though fast-paced, will give you afternoon and night time flexibility.
Character Type/Restrictions:
Carmela/ 7 years old/ Latine/to be performed by an adult actor- Full of energy, happiness and wonder
Miguel/ 13 years old/ Latine/to be performed by an adult actor- Carmela's older brother. Has suddenly become the "man of the house," loves Carmela deeply but gets irritated by her easily.
Mami/ Ensemble/ Latine/ Carmela's mom- Will play different roles, puppeteering experience welcome but not required.
Papi/Ensemble/Latine/ Carmela's dad- Will play different roles, Guitar experience required.
