Redtwist Theatre is seeking actors for both Principal and Understudy roles for the World Premiere production of Prayer Circle by Erik Gernand, Directed by Artistic Director, Dusty Brown (they/them).
At Redtwist Theatre, we encourage actors of all sizes, ethnicities, and gender identities to submit for any role in which they may see fit.
Prayer Circle

A dark comedy about a prayer group at a small country church that discovers they have the power to kill through their prayers.Time Commitment:
First Rehearsal: Week of August 2nd, 2026
Load-In: August 31st, 2026
Tech: September 11th, – September 16th, 2026
Previews: September 17th – September 19th, 2026
Opening: September 20th, 2026
Closing: November 8th, 2026
Understudy Performances: October 8th, 1026 & October 25th, 2026
(There is no performance on October 31st)
Rehearsals will take place at our rehearsal studio in Edgewater Presbyterian Church (next to Redtwist Theatre on Bryn Mawr) and will be four weekday evenings and one weekend day during the day for the rehearsal process.
Performances will take place Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 3:30 PM.

About the Playwright:
Erik Gernand is a Chicago-based playwright and filmmaker. His play The Totality of All Things won a Jeff Award for Best New Work for its 2024 production at Redtwist Theatre where he is the playwright in residence. His plays have been produced around the country, including at The Barrow Group (New York City), Actors Theatre of Louisville, The ROAD Theatre Company (Los Angeles), and City Theatre (Miami), and have been published by Dramatic Publishing and Smith & Kraus. Erik is a Professor of Instruction in Radio-TV-Film at Northwestern University. www.erikgernand.com
About the Director:
Dusty Brown is the Executive Artistic Director of Redtwist Theatre. They began their career as a stagehand in Atlanta, Georgia, working on everything from Shakespeare to new works, and everything in between. They received their MFA in Directing from Ohio University in 2021: Notable productions include Titus Andronicus, Wolves, and ‘Night Mother. www.dustinbrown.net
