J’UNCLE is an original story about a guy who is the King of his Castle and lives life on His Terms.  Never mind that ‘his castle’ is his younger brother’s tool garage and ‘his terms’ – well – landed him there.

The script examines family relations, societal expectations & norms, and what it means to ‘live’ in the modern world.  There is frankly talk of sex and sexuality; the only vulgarities are a few pointed, ‘meaningless’, verbal-attacks between siblings.

The script is written as a 3-episode season, each about a half hour long.  Episode 1 is James and Stephen, Episode 2 is James and Verity and Episode 3 is all of them.  This is the first of – hopefully – many seasons to come.  We are currently writing the next and expect to produce and perform it in the same space in December.

Character Type/Restrictions:

JAMES LEWIS is in his mid to late 30s and not a particularly big nor good-looking fella.  He is smart, quick-witted, aware of current events, and does not lack for confidence – especially considering his circumstances.  He lives in shorts, a T, and flip-flops.    There is brief, less than a couple seconds of, nudity.  There will be opportunity to use set pieces to block some viewers and we do have an IC on the team.

STEPHEN LEWIS, early 30s, could not be more different than his older brother Jim.  Stephen is tall, good looking, successful, happily married to Verity and expecting his first child.  He sometimes speaks before he thinks, causing awkward embarrassment.  He has a great ability to let things roll off his back; but, where does it all roll?

VERITY LEWIS is only a few months older than Stephen, she did graduate HS a year before.  She gets along very well with both brothers.  She gets along with most people; but is not a pushover.  She loves her life (some might call it 'blessed') and doesn’t really question much beyond that.  She is fun, understanding, compassionate, and doesn’t take things too seriously.
