Equity Principal Audition for ANNIE and 9 TO 5. AEA members may make appointments through the AEA office. Non-union actors will be seen on a first come, first seen basis in open appointments. Auditions for non-union young performers for ANNIE, MOLLY, PEPPER, DUFFY, JULY, TESSIE, and KATE will be held at a later date.
Material to Prepare:
Approx. 1-2 minute cut from your book in the style of or from the show you are auditioning for. Bring sheet music cut in your key. Pianist provided. Bring current headshot and resume.

Character Type/Restrictions:
ANNIE
ANNIE - (10-12) A tough, streetwise orphan who is nevertheless vulnerable when she thinks she might lose what has become most important to her: a newfound “family” who loves her. She is friendly and caring. Must be a strong actor with strong vocal and musical skill. Vocal range: A3-G5. AUDITIONS FOR NON-UNION YOUNG PERFORMERS WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE.
MISS HANNIGAN – (35-45) The “has-been” orphanage matron who hates children but is fond of liquor. Very disillusioned, bitter, and cold. Strong comedic timing required. Vocal range: B3-G5
OLIVER WARBUCKS – (40-55) a successful businessman with a warm heart. Rich, stiff-collared, bullish. Vocal range: B3-Gb5
GRACE FARRELL – (26-35) Faithful secretary to Mr. Oliver Warbucks. Poised, sweet, and gentle. She is all business when dealing with Miss Hannigan and Warbucks but takes a maternal approach to Annie. Vocal range: Bb3-G5
ROOSTER HANNIGAN – (25-35) Miss Hannigan’s no-good brother looking for a quick buck. A sleazy, slick con man. Vocal range: B3-G5
LILY – (25-35) Rooster’s girlfriend who is also out for a quick buck. She is easily distracted. She is never the leader, always bringing up the rear while tripping over her own feet metaphorically speaking. Vocal range: B3-G5
FDR – (40-60) – The 32nd President of the United States. A Democrat and friend of Warbucks. Vocal Range: Eb3-F4
MOLLY, PEPPER, DUFFY, JULY, TESSIE, KATE - (6-13) The other orphans in Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. These girls are gritty, neglected, and vulnerable, yet honest and loveable. AUDITIONS FOR NON-UNION YOUNG PERFORMERS WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE.

VIOLET – (40-45) The company’s Head Secretary and Mr. Hart’s Administrative Assistant, she is a single mother and stands up for what she believes in. She is strong and ambitious. Vocal range: F3-D5
DORALEE – (25-30) A spitfire who works at Mr. Hart’s office. She is proof that there is more to a woman than just her looks. Vocal range: G3-E5
JUDY – (30-35) The "new" girl at the firm, she has been burned by her husband's affair and is searching for personal empowerment. Insecure, determined, and hopeful. Vocal range: AB3-F5
FRANKLIN HART – (45-50) One of the firm’s executives and a notorious chauvinist. He is capable of faking charm but usually shows his true colors as an arrogant, self-absorbed boss. Vocal range: C3-Gb4
ROZ KEITH – (35-45) the attentive office gossip queen and snitch. She has an unrequited love for Mr. Hart and will do anything she can to win his approval. Vocal range: G3-C5
