Character Type/Restrictions:

THE WEDDING SINGER

ROBBIE (25-35) - The protagonist and New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. Robbie is charismatic, kind-hearted, and a hopeless romantic. After being left at the altar, he transforms into a cynical "wedding trasher" before finding a new spark with Julia.

JULIA (25-35) - A sweet, grounded waitress who dreams of her perfect wedding. Julia is empathetic and sees the best in everyone, which initially blinds her to Glen’s flaws. Her chemistry with Robbie is built on genuine friendship and shared values.

SAMMY (25-35) - The bassist in Robbie’s band and his best friend. Sammy is a quintessential "tough guy" who wears leather and tries too hard to be cool to overcompensate for his lack of direction. He has a complicated, lingering history with Holly.

GEORGE (25-35) - The band’s flamboyant keyboardist. George is heavily inspired by Boy George and provides much of the show’s comedic relief and eccentric flair. He is sensitive, loyal, and has a signature high-pitched vocal style.

HOLLY (25-35) - Julia’s cousin and best friend. Holly is bold, sexually confident, and loves a good party. While she presents a tough exterior, she’s looking for something real—though she’d never admit it at first.

GLEN GUGLIA (30-35) - Julia’s fiancé. Glen is a high-powered Wall Street "junk bond" salesman who represents everything shallow about the 1980s. He is wealthy, arrogant, and views Julia more as a trophy than a partner.

ROSIE (60+) - Robbie’s grandmother. Rosie is sassy, energetic, and surprisingly hip for her age. She provides Robbie with wisdom and comedic moments, including a memorable 80s-style rap.

LINDA (25-35) - Robbie’s ex-fiancée who leaves him at the altar via a letter. Linda is a "trashy" rock-and-roll girl who realizes too late that she misses the stability Robbie provided.ANGIE (45+) - Julia’s mother. Angie is a quintessential Jersey mom—a bit overbearing, focused on social status, and desperately wants Julia to marry "well" (meaning Glen and his money).
