Pay Rate: $300/week. For the first week for music rehearsals, then there will be a pause until the week of tech. You will resume payment the week of tech until the end of the run. $65/show you go on, up to a cap of $650

Chicago Children’s Theatre is looking for a non-equity Understudy for our upcoming musical Goodnight Moon.

This understudy will be learning the following ensemble track (female, any race/ethnicity, 30+):  OLD LADY // CLARABELLE THE COW // BEAR // MOON // ENSEMBLE.

This musical is a burst of energy encapsulated in the timeless classical full of big musical numbers and incredible songs. This specific track will also have three safely staged falls per show as Clarabelle the Cow attempts to “Jump Over the Moon.”

Vocal Range: needs to be very comfortable down to G3 and up to Eb5.

Understudy expectations:

Attend the first week of music rehearsals
Attend all of tech and previews
You will need to attend 1 u/s rehearsal a week on Wednesdays at noon and watch 2 performances a week once the show opens. You do not need to be at the theatre otherwise but need to be able to get to CCT within 30ish minutes of getting a call any morning of any performance in case you have  to go on.

At this time, we are unable to accept any major conflicts for this understudy schedule.

Rehearsals will be held at CCT (100 S Racine Ave), Wednesday-Sunday between 10am-5pm.
