They Are All Our Sons is the story of Greek Myths’ Medusa told through the lens of a modern day strip club. When two young women, dancers Medusa and Athena, meet in the club, Athena quickly becomes Medusa’s mentor. The club starts to curate a sister-like bond between the two as they find themselves constantly up against unique experiences of patriarchy. Their love and adoration for each other quickly leads to a destined dance partnership and lucrative work relationship. However, as Medusa grows obsessed with her self-discovery, the power play between men and women, and her mission to heal her history of sexual trauma, she starts to challenge the stability of the only environment Athena has ever felt control in.
Told through moments of incredible joy, strength, grace, and pain, the play is a commentary on the sisterhood wound, and how women have a unique ability to understand and reject each other, as they are products of the patriarchy. Within the show, the audience must face our social and cultural history rooted in misogyny and join Medusa as she tries to answer the question: will people of different genders always be a threat to one another or is it possible to experience a true, peaceful coexistence?

WHAT TO PREPARE
All wanting to audition for They Are All Our Sons must prepare a 1-2 minute pole dance routine (or freestyle) to a song of their choosing. Additionally, if you are interested in auditioning for the roles of KAT or HENNESSY which also serve as internal understudies for MEDUSA & ATHENA, please prepare their respective sides attached in the audition form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfYNPfBr6yuLpxNQjWaW2qGOrxLTOgIQEIYw7gylRkdHxJbmw/viewform?usp=header.
**If auditioning for KAT or HENNESSY, please sign up for a 10-minute audition slot. If auditioning for ZAZA or VENUS, please sign up for a 5-minute audition slot.**
Full script access is on the audition form as well. Self tapes will be accepted in lieu of an in person audition if you are not available in person. Self tapes are due by the end of the day on 3/8.

SELF TAPE
Step One: Access sides & self tape audition instructions via the Audition Form (see above)
Step Two: Record your self tape. Upload your self tape to the Audition Form & complete your audition by submitting the Audition Form due by EOD 3/8/26! Break a leg!
Time Commitment:
Rehearsal begins September 28th, 2026.
Rehearsals:
4 day work week with a split of evening or daytime weekday rehearsals and evening weekend rehearsals.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
MEDUSA- a baby stripper. Has a tattoo of Medusa. Naive, curious, vulnerable. (CAST)
ATHENA- a seasoned stripper. Jaded, skeptical, smart, has a lot of wisdom to impart. (CAST)
KAT- a stripper, also internal understudy for MEDUSA
HENNESSY- a stripper, also internal understudy for ATHENA
VENUS- a stripper and a full service sex worker
ZAZA- a stripper
JADE- a stripper, also internal understudy for KAT & HENNESSY. (CAST)
*all parts can be played by persons of any gender except cis men.
