The Lifespan of a Fact is a fast-paced, razor-sharp comedy-drama based on the true story behind a contentious magazine essay. When Jim, an eager young fact-checker, is assigned to vet a gripping piece by celebrated author John D’Agata, he discovers that the “facts” in the essay are anything but straightforward. What begins as a routine assignment spirals into a high-stakes showdown over truth, storytelling, and the responsibility of art. With Emily, the hard-pressed editor caught in the middle, the play becomes a witty, thought-provoking battle of intellect and integrity. Smart, funny, and urgent, this three-hander offers crackling dialogue and rich opportunities for dynamic performances.
