Audition Packets are available upon request via email to RHHorwitz@SkokieParks.Org. Recommended cast ages are 18+. Auditions are by appointment from 5-8P, Sunday, December 7 and 7-10P on Monday, December 8. Callbacks, if needed will be Tuesday, December 9 from 7-10P. Four one acts will be featured and led by four different directors. These include:
Chicago by Sam Shepard – directed by Tyler Skafgaard. This play explores the complexities of love and survival in a threatening modern world.
Clean by Audrey Cefaly – directed by Amy Torf. Two lonely souls share stories about their lives in an all-night diner
The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter – directed by Steven Yandell. Two hired killers nervously await their next assignment
Man of the House by Robert Alan Blair – directed by Will Fisher. A safecracker’s job is complicated by an unusual case of mistaken identity.
Material to Prepare:
Actors should prepare a one-minute, dramatic or comedy monologue.
Time Commitment:
We begin with a read through Sunday, December 14 / 5-9P. We take a break from rehearsals for the holidays and begin rehearsals once more in the evenings during the first week in January and continue through February with performances Saturdays February 14 & 21 at 7P plus Sundays, February 15 & 22 at 3P. More details and a tentative rehearsal schedule are included in the audition packet which is available upon request.

Clean by Audrey Cefaly – directed by Amy Torf. A worn out waitress and a quiet, unassuming dishwasher sit alone in a diner after closing and share stories from their lonely lives.
Lina Female Presenting / Age: Flexible /An overworked, lonely waitress. mature beyond her years.
Roberto Male Presenting / Age: Flexible /An immigrant dishwasher. Speaks in broken English with an accent (accent tbd by actor's range.)

Gus Male-Presenting as written, but open to any gender / Age: 20s-early 30s /The younger of the two assassins. Gus is curious, surprisingly sensitive, and is starting to have real concerns about the career he’s chosen.
Ben Male-Presenting as written, but open to any gender / Age: 30s-50s /The older of the two assassins. Ben is quiet, confident, domineering, and is deeply uncomfortable with Gus’ tendency to ask questions.
