Who

Seeking strong actors that are 18+ years of age. Local hires only (no housing or travel provided). We encourage Trans and Gender Non-Conforming performers to submit as genders listed as those of the character, not the performer.

WHEN

In Person Auditions ONLY (no submissions at this time) will be on Sunday, September 7 6:30pm-9:30pm at BrightSide Theatre’s Rehearsal Studio, 1989 University Lane, Unit D, Lisle, IL 60532.  Sign up for a time at www.brightsidetheatre.com.

Prepare a 32-bar cut of a song  from a legit musical theatre or classical repertoire/operetta that shows off your acting strengths as well as vocal range.    An accompanist will be provided.  Bring your Headshot/Resume.

Callbacks will be by invite only the evening of Monday, September 8.

 

Time Commitment

Rehearsals will be evenings from December 7-11 and evenings January 4-7.  Not all cast is called to each rehearsal.  Dress Rehearsal is the evening of January 8.  No rehearsal conflicts will be accepted for Dress Rehearsal or any performances.

Performances

All performances will be at the Madden Theatre on the Campus of North Central College, 171 Chicago Ave. in Naperville. Opening 1/9/26; Closing 1/18/26 (Fri/Sat evenings at 7:30pm and Sun matinees at 2pm with an additional Sat Mat on 1/17/26 – 7 performances total)

Casting Breakdown

 

Phantom/Eric: (identifies as male) Elegant, charming and yet-evil.  Lived for almost his whole life in the opera house. Baritone.

Gerard Carrier: (identifies as male). The former manager of the opera house & Eric’s father. Baritone.

Christine: (identifies as female). A beautiful, kindhearted and naïve young opera singer. Soprano.

Carlotta: This role has been precast.

Count de Chanton (Phillippe): (identifies as male) The handsome and self-confident opera benefactor. Tenor.

Belladova: (identifies as female) Phantom/Eric’s mother.

Cholet: (identifies as male) The new manager of the opera house & Carlotta’s husband.

Jean-Claude: (identifies as male) The stage manager of the opera house.

Inspector LeDoux: (identifies as male) Inspector of the Paris police

Phantom’s, the opera company, patrons etc: (identify as either gender) A combination of voices.
